When charging, if the charging units needs to move obliquely to reach the target, does this affect its maximum charge distance?  When moving normally or marching the unit moves obliquely at half speed (in clarifications).  Could you confirm that the slower speed modifier is ignored for charges and it is the simple distance, nearest point to nearest point (page 16), without the complication of half speed parts of the charge move.

The charge would get its normal full movement distance.  I've just re-read the clarification and it actually makes it confusing as the 'half movement unless skirmishers or light troops' refers to the terrain penalty, not the fact that it is moving obliquely which is carried out as in the rules - you get the full move.

I'll have to clarify that clarification!!
